Class #4: Forging a new relationship with bees
Bee Keeping can seem daunting what with all the equipment and knowledge to gain. But really there is a more fundamental step to take in understanding what it means to take on this activity. In this class we'll explore the fundamentals of honey bees and keeping them as well as a different approach to how we think about keeping bees.

Suitable for beginners as well as seasoned bee keepers.

Class Duration: 1 1/2 hours

Perma-Culture Design
This 1 day, 8 hour project-based intense workshop will focus on the permaculture design principles of Forest Gardening. Turn your front or back yard into an edible landscape that is productive and beautiful, creates a healthy ecosystem from the soil up, and, over time, will require less input and energy to maintain.

Participants will bring their proposed garden design (if available) or current garden information and will leave workshop with a working design. Course is directed to serious gardeners wishing to create and implement a design rather than the casually curious.

Workshop will be taught by Annamaria Leon, Manager, Edible Landscapes Division at Christy Webber Landscapes. She is a Certified Permaculture Designer and holds a Certificate in Sustainable Agriculture and Sustainable Horticulture through the City College of Chicago and the Chicago Botanic Garden’s Windy City Harvest Program.
